Partnachklamm Winter Hike

This tour in a nutshell

Join us on a circuit hike to the famous Partnachklamm where the river Partnach has carved a deep gorge into the mountain. It is particularly spectacular in the wintertime when it is covered in icicles and powdered with snow. You will also get amazing glimpses of the mountains and after around 1.5 hours of hiking an excellent elevated lunch with a view awaits.

Learn how our ancestors used the wild river to transport logs – with dangerous techniques that will run a chill down your spine. And find out about dark Olympic history in the ski stadium of Garmisch-Partenkirchen where the 1936 Olympic Games were held under Hitler with the world applauding.

 

Please note that this hike includes a continuous ascent of around 30 minutes and – unlike most of our other tours – leads to a rather touristy spot!
