Mountain Pastures

Bavaria's Mountain Pastures in a Nutshell

This tour in a nutshell

This guided day trip from Munich takes us to the Mangfall mountains near Spitzingsee and through mountain pastures typical of the Alps. Our ancestors formed these cultural landscapes over the centuries and they knew how to thrive in unison with nature. The resulting pastures are rich in biodiversity and very worth protecting. If you want to experience the Bavarian Alps first-hand without too much of a challenge, this tour is for you!

We start our walk along the shores of a mountain lake and continue to a lovely open valley with views of the surrounding mountains. All of the paths are well-maintained, easy to walk on and without much of an elevation gain. Our hiking destination is a local chalet with lovely vistas and a huge selection of yummy food. But beware – the portions are enormous!
